The instrument uses filament bulbs for general background illumination.
They are not bright, particularly given a lot of the light is filtered out to only pass the red.
The upgrade LED bulbs are bright and intense red.
They are very specifically designed to suit the instrument.
Kit contains 4 LED bulbs for the backlight illumination
Comparison
BEFORE… washed out orange-reddish colour.
AFTER… Very crisp, clear and intense red backlighting.
It’s not possible to light up with other colours.
The filter painted on the dial plates blocks other colours.
Fitment
These LED replacement bulbs are custom designed and specifically optimized to suit the MC22 CBR250RR instrument.
Customers have been using them on the RVF400, which uses the same instrument.
